Our Politics

Austin and I have been signing a lot of petitions these days and emailing/faxing our Senators. Bob Bennett has a great website that keeps us posted on what's going on. We were involved enough to get free tickets to a book signing for Mitt Romney. We got this yard sign at the convention too! After the book signing we were invited to a smaller room where we were on the front row and got to hear both Bob Bennett & Mitt Romney speak. They talked about the importance of being involved. They encouraged everyone in the room to run as a state delegate in our local precinct caucus. So a few weeks later we went to our precinct meeting and I nominated Austin as a delegate, he gave a little 5 min speach and then our precinct voted. Austin wasn't elected to be a state delegate but he was in first place to be a county delegate. Exciting times!!! We feel so blessed to live in this free nation and we are excited to be a part of the election process for people in our county.
Excuse the poor quality photos, this is just my phone camera! We have two of Mitt Romney's books and would be happy to lend one out.

After Mitt Romneys speach he came and stood an arms lenght away from us. We were wiggin' out, but we were too shy to stand up and shake his hand! I was afraid that I'd treat him too much like a movie star!

PlayDough Sunday

'layna calls play dough "potatoes". It took me awhile to figure out what she was saying.

Swan Lift

Austin taught the girls how to do the swan lift. They are fearless little monkeys!

Our Roof

So this is the before picture of our house when it didn't have a pitch. The bum who originally did our roof lied to us and said that it had enough of a pitch to put shingles on. Sure it had enough pitch! It started leaking 1.5 years later. Every time it rained we would have to climb on our roof and sweep the puddles off!!! Something had to be done!!!

So we ripped off the crap roof to the old existing roof and got trusses from Burton Lumber and put a pitch on our house. We got a lot of help but it was still many hours of hard labor.
We finished the roof fall of 09

But we didn't have time to put the siding, facia & soffit on. So we went through the winter with our house looking like this.

We finally two weeks ago finished up the soffit, facia & siding. Now all we have to do is get rain gutters. But we'll probably wait on that for awhile!

Here's our last piece of facia!!!

I'm an Auntie again!

I have a fettish of making baby's hair spikey like this. If your baby has hair I'm going to make it spikey!

My brother & sister-in-law (John & Bethany) just had their new baby, Amelia Jane! I got to see her today and that little snuggly just melted my heart. I could hold her all day. I had to rip myself away. She is so soft and warm and she smells so good. She makes little baby sounds that are so adorable. She's like a kitten and a baby all wrapped up in one. Words can't describe how grateful we are at the safe arrival of this little one!
